Bacteriophage ממס הפך מבני שיש מגוון רחב של זני מארח סטפילוקוקוס וחלבון פניצילין מחייב (PBP 2a) חרוזים לטקס מצומדות נוגדנים כבר נוצלו ליצירת biosensor המיועד לאפליה של Methicillin עמיד (MRSA) ו-S רגיש (MSSA) . מיני aureus 1,2. לפאגים ממוסס הוסבו spheroids phage על ידי מגע עם ממשק מים, כלורופורם. monolayers אליפטית הפאג הועברה על גבי משטח biosensor על ידי טכניקת 3 אנגמיור-Blodgett (LB). את biosensors נוצר נבחן על ידי microbalance קוורץ גביש עם מעקב פיזור (QCM-D) כדי להעריך אינטראקציות חיידקים-phage. אינטראקציות חיידקים אליפטית הובילו לתדר תהודה מופחת ועלייה באנרגיה פיזור עבור שניהם זני MRSA ו MSSA. לאחר מחייב חיידקים, חיישנים אלה נחשפו בהמשך לפניצילין, מחייב חלבון נוגדן לטקס חרוזים. חיישנים ניתח עם MRSA הגיבו לPBP חרוזים נוגדני 2a; למרות חיישנים נבדקו עם MSSA לא נתנו שום תגובה. הבחנה ניסיונית זו קובעת חד משמעית אפליה בין methicillin עמיד וס הרגישים זני סטפילוקוקוס. מחויב באותה מידה ולא כרוך bacteriophages לדכא התפתחות חיידקים על משטחים ובהשעיות מים. ברגע שהם שינו phages ממוסס לתוך spheroids, הם שומרים על פעילות ממס החזקה שלהם ולהראות יכולת ללכוד חיידקים גבוהה. ניתן יהיה לנצל את spheroids phage והפאג לבחינות ולעיקור של מיקרואורגניזמים עמידים לאנטיביוטיקה. יישומים אחרים עשויים לכלול שימוש בטיפול bacteriophage ומשטחי מיקרוביאלית.
