De technieken voor de multi-aambeeld experimenten goed gevestigd, genereert stabiele druk en temperatuur langere looptijd en produceren relatief groot monstervolume. Het is een krachtig hulpmiddel te simuleren de inwendige processen van planeten, vooral voor experimenten, zoals smelt percolatie, dat bepaalde monstervolume vereist. De beperking is de maximaal haalbare druk, tot 27 GPa met wolfraamcarbide (WC) aambeelden, het bereiken van de kern druk van Mars en Mercurius, maar veel te lage druk om de kernen van de Aarde...

Aardse planeten zoals de Aarde, Venus, Mars en Mercurius zijn gedifferentieerd planetaire lichamen bestaande uit een silicaat mantel en een metalen kern. De moderne planeetvorming model suggereert dat de aardse planeten werden gevormd uit botsingen van Moon-to-Mars-en kleinbedrijf planetaire embryo gegroeid van km-formaat of groter planetesimalen door gravitationele wisselwerkingen 1-2. De brokstukken werden waarschijnlijk al gedifferentieerd zodra het metallisch ijzer legeringen bereikte smelttemperatuur door verhitting uit bronnen zoals radioactief verval van kortlevende isotopen zoals 26 Al en 60 Fe, impact, en het vrijkomen van potentiële energie 3. Het is belangrijk te begrijpen hoe het vloeibare metaal gepercoleerd door een silicaat matrix tijdens de vroege differentiatie. Planet differentiatie kon gaan door middel van efficiënte vloeistof-vloeistof scheiding of door percolatie van vloeibaar metaal in een vaste silicaat matrix, afhankelijkde grootte en binnentemperatuur van de planetaire lichamen. De percolatie van vloeibaar metaal in de vaste silicaat matrix waarschijnlijk een dominante proces in de eerste differentiatie wanneer de temperatuur niet hoog genoeg om de hele hemellichaam smelten. De efficiëntie van percolatie afhankelijk van de tweevlakshoek bepaald door de grensvlak-energie van de vaste stof-vaste en vaste stof-vloeistof grensvlakken. We kunnen dit proces simuleren in het laboratorium door het uitvoeren van hoge druk en hoge temperatuur experimenten op een mengsel van ijzer legering en silicaat. Recente studies 4-7 hebben onderzoek het bevochtigende vermogen van vloeibaar ijzer legeringen in een vaste silicaat matrix bij hoge druk en temperatuur. Zij gebruikten een conventionele werkwijze om de relatieve frequentieverdelingen van schijnbare standhoeken tussen de geblust vloeibare metaal en silicaat korrels op de gepolijste dwarsdoorsneden maat voor de bepaling van de ware tweevlakshoek. De conventionele methode levert relatief grote uncertainties in de gemeten tweevlakshoek en mogelijke vertekening, afhankelijk van de bemonstering statistiek. Hier presenteren we een nieuwe beeldvormende techniek om de verdeling van vloeibaar metaal in het silicaat matrix visualiseren driedimensionaal (3D) door een combinatie van FIB malen en hoge-resolutie veldemissie-SEM beeldvorming. De nieuwe weergavetechniek zorgt voor een nauwkeurige bepaling van de tweevlakshoek en kwantitatieve meting van de volumefractie en connectiviteit van de vloeibare fase. Kern van de aarde werd gevormd in een relatief korte tijd (&lt;100 miljoen jaar) 8, vermoedelijk in een vloeibare toestand bij haar vroege geschiedenis. Mars en Mercurius hebben ook vloeibare kernen op basis van zonne-getijden vervorming van de Mars Global Surveyor radio bijhouden van gegevens 9 en radar spikkel patronen gebonden aan de planetaire rotatie 10, respectievelijk. Thermische evolutie modellen en hoge druk smelten experimenten op kernmaterialen verdere ondersteuning van een vloeibare kern van Mars11-12. Recente Messenger ruimtevaartuig gegevens leveren aanvullend bewijs voor een vloeibare kern van Mercurius 13. Zelfs de kleine Maan heeft waarschijnlijk een kleine vloeibare kern op basis van recente heranalyse van Appollo maan seismogrammen 14. Vloeibare planetaire kernen zijn consistent met hoge accretie energie in het vroege stadium van planeetvorming. Vervolgens afkoelen kan leiden tot vorming van vaste kern voor sommige planeten. Seismische gegevens blijkt dat de aarde uit een vloeibare buitenkern en een vaste binnenkern. De vorming van de kern heeft belangrijke gevolgen voor de dynamiek van de kern als gevolg van thermische en samenstelling convections en het genereren van het magnetische veld van de aarde. Stollen van de binnenkern wordt geregeld door de smelttemperatuur van kernmaterialen en de thermische evolutie van de kern. Kernvorming terrestrische planeten gedeelde vergelijkbare aanwas paden en de chemische samenstelling van de kernen wordt als be gedomineerd door ijzer met ongeveer 10 gew% lichte elementen zoals zwavel (S), silicium (Si), zuurstof (O), koolstof (C) en waterstof (H) 15. Het is essentieel om de kennis van de smelt relaties in de systemen de kern, zoals Fe-FeS, Fe-C, Fe-FeO, Fe-feh en Fe-FeSiat hogedruk relevant is, teneinde de samenstelling van begrijpen de planetaire kernen. In deze studie zullen we demonstreren experimenten uitgevoerd in het multi-aambeeld-apparaat en diamant-aambeeld cel, het nabootsen van de voorwaarden van de planetaire kernen. De experimenten geven informatie over de kristallisatie sequentie en element verdeling tussen vaste en vloeibare metaal, waardoor een beter begrip van de eisen van de binnenkern kristallisatie en de lichtverdeling elementen tussen de kristallijne binnenkern en vloeistof uit de kern. Om het smeltpunt relaties zeer hoge drukken breiden, hebben we nieuwe technieken om het afgeschrikte monsters teruggewonnen uit laser-verwarmde ruit een analyse ontwikkeldnvil cel experimenten. Met precisie FIB frezen van de laser-verwarming spot, bepalen we smelten met behulp blussen textuur criteria afgebeeld met een hoge resolutie SEM en kwantitatieve chemische analyse met een silicium drift detector op submicron ruimtelijke resolutie. Hier schetsen we twee sets van experimenten om planetaire kern vorming na te bootsen door percolatie van metalen smelten in silicaat matrix tijdens de vroege groei en innerlijke kern kristallisatie door vervolgens afkoelen. De simulatie is bedoeld om de twee belangrijke processen begrijpen tijdens de evolutie van planetaire kern.

Een planetaire inrichting onder hoge druk en hoge temperatuur en heeft een gelaagde structuur. Er zijn twee belangrijke processen die tot die gelaagde structuur (1) percolatie van vloeibaar metaal in een vaste silicaat matrix van planeet differentiatie en (2) met een kern kristallisatie door daaropvolgende planeet koelen. We voeren hoge druk en hoge temperatuur experimenten beide processen simuleren in het laboratorium. Vorming van percolative planetaire kern afhankelijk van de efficiëntie van smelt percolatie, die wordt bestuurd door de tweevlakshoek (bevochtiging) hoek. Het filtratieproces simulatie omvat onder hoge druk naar een doel temperatuur waarbij ijzer-zwavel legering is gesmolten verhitten van het monster terwijl het silicaat blijft stevig en vervolgens het bepalen van de ware tweevlakshoek aan de stijl van vloeistof migratie in een kristallijne matrix van 3D-visualisatie evalueren. De 3D-volume rendering is bereikt door het snijden van de teruggewonnen monster met een focused ion beam (FIB) en takoning SEM beeld van elk sneetje met een FIB / SEM dwarsbalk instrument. De tweede reeks experimenten ontworpen om de kern kristallisatie en elementdistributie tussen de vloeibare buitenkern en vaste binnenkern door bepaling van de smelttemperatuur en element afscherming onder hoge druk begrijpen. Het smelten experimenten worden in de multi-aambeeld inrichting tot 27 GPa en uitgebreid naar hogere druk in de diamant-aambeeld cel met laser-verwarming. We hebben technieken om kleine verwarmde monsters herstellen door precisie FIB frezen en het verkrijgen van hoge-resolutie afbeeldingen van de laser-verwarmde plek die smeltende textuur vertonen onder hoge druk ontwikkeld. Door het analyseren van de chemische samenstellingen van de naast elkaar bestaande vloeibare en vaste fasen we precies bepalen liquidus kromme, levering van de benodigde gegevens aan de binnenkern kristallisatieproces begrijpen.

We hebben een reeks proeven onder toepassing van mengsels van San Carlos olivijn en Fe-FeS metaallegering met verschillende metaal-silicaat verhoudingen uitgevoerd als uitgangsmaterialen. De S-gehalte van het metaal is 10 gew% S.
