De DMN wordt gevormd door cerebrale regio subserving bewuste, rust-toestand cognitie. De DMN is gemeld te worden betrokken bij aanvallen in verband met verminderde consciousness 9,10. Bovendien, de hippocampus is de sleutel structuur betrokken bij TLE en is gedacht aan component van de DMN zijn. De connectiviteit van de PCC de hippocampale formatie zwakker dan bij andere DMN componenten, zoals mediale prefrontale en inferieure pariëtale cortex. Dit suggereert dat de hippocampus ofwel een subnetwerk van de DMN of een samenwerkend netwerk 11,12. Deze overeenkomsten tussen TLE en DMN opperen de mogelijkheid dat DMN functionele connectiviteit is veranderd in TLE. Deze analyse vergelijkt het DMN van patiënten met TLE met gezonde controles om inzicht te krijgen in de betrokkenheid van DMN in TLE krijgen. De connectiviteit van zaden geplaatst in de belangrijkste hubs van de DMN - de voorste en achterste hub regio&#39;s werden geanalyseerd 12. Zaden werden in de achterste naaf bestaande uit de retrosplenium / precuneus (Rsp / PCUN) en de voorste naaf bestaande uit de ventromediale prefrontale cortex (vmPFC) bij patiënten met TLE en geplaatstgezonde controles om de achterste en voorste subnetwerken van de DMN identificeren.

Functionele connectiviteit MRI (fcMRI) is een fMRI-methode die de connectiviteit van verschillende hersengebieden op basis van de correlatie van BOLD signaal schommelingen in de tijd onderzoekt. Temporale kwab epilepsie (TLE) is de meest voorkomende vorm van volwassen epilepsie en bestaat uit meerdere hersenen netwerken. De standaard modus netwerk (DMN) is betrokken bij bewustzijn, rusttoestand cognitie en wordt verondersteld te worden beïnvloed in TLE waar epileptische aanvallen kunnen veroorzaken vermindering van het bewustzijn. De DMN bij epilepsie werd onderzocht met behulp van zaad gebaseerd fcMRI. De voorste en achterste naven van de DMN werden gebruikt als zaden in deze analyse. De resultaten tonen een scheiding tussen de voorste en achterste naven van de DMN in TLE in de basale toestand. Daarnaast werd een verhoogde DMN connectiviteit met andere hersengebieden in de linker TLE samen met een verminderde connectiviteit in juiste TLE wordt onthuld. De analyse toont hoe-zaad gebaseerde fcMRI kan worden om cerebrale netwerken probe bij dementie zoals TLE.

Figuur 1 toont de DMN onthuld met aansluiting bij een posterior zaad (RSP / PCUN, rood-gele kleuren) en een anterieure zaad (vmPFC, blauw-groene kleuren) en vergelijkt de netwerken in de verschillende groepen proefpersonen (figuren 1A-C) en tussen elkaar, namelijk gezonde controles vergeleken alle patiënten met TLE (figuren 1D en 1E) en gezonde controles afzonderlijk vergeleken links TLE (fig. 1F en 1G) en rechter TLE ...
