Funksjonell Connectivity MRI (fcMRI) er en relativt ny analytisk tilnærming til fMRI data som kvantifiserer sammenhengen mellom ulike områder av hjernen basert på likheten av deres blod oksygenenivåavhengig (BOLD) signal tidsserie - dette kalles &quot;funksjonell&quot;-tilkobling, og er skjelnes fra anatomisk tilkobling som beskriver eksistensen av fysiske forbindelser mellom regioner (for eksempel hvit materie fiber). I en spesiell anvendelse av denne tilnærmingen, er tidsserien samlet når deltakeren ikke er engasjert i en oppgave eller er i den såkalte &quot;hviletilstand&quot;. Imidlertid er tilkobling av PCC til hippocampus dannelsen svakere enn med andre DMN komponenter, for eksempel medial prefrontal og dårligere parietal cortex. Dette tyder på at hippocampus er enten et delnettverk av DMN eller et samspill nettverk 11,12. Disse fellestrekk mellom TLE og DMN øke muligheten for at Dmn funksjonell tilkobling er endret på TLE. Denne analysen sammenligner DMN av individer med TLE med friske kontroller for å få innsikt i involvering av DMN i TLE. Tilkobling av frø som er plassert i de viktigste huber av DMN - fremre og bakre hub regioner ble analysert 12. Frøene ble plassert i det bakre nav bestående av retrosplenium / precuneus (Rsp / PCUN) samt fremre knutepunkt bestående av ventromediale prefrontale cortex (vmPFC) hos pasienter med TLE-og insunn kontroller for å identifisere de bakre og fremre subnett av DMN.

Funksjonell tilkobling MRI (fcMRI) er en fMRI metode som undersøker tilkobling av ulike hjerneområder basert på korrelasjon av BOLD signal svingninger over tid. Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) er den vanligste typen av voksen epilepsi og involverer flere hjernenettverk. Standardmodusen nettverk (DMN) er involvert i bevisst, hviletilstand kognisjon og antas å bli påvirket i TLE der anfall føre til svekkelse av bevissthet. Den DMN i epilepsi ble undersøkt ved hjelp av frø basert fcMRI. Fremre og bakre huber av DMN ble brukt som frø i denne analysen. Resultatene viser en frakobling mellom det fremre og bakre knutepunkter i dmn i TLE under basal tilstand. I tillegg økte DMN tilkobling til andre områder av hjernen i venstre TLE sammen med redusert tilkobling i høyre TLE er avslørt. Analysen demonstrerer hvordan frø-baserte fcMRI kan brukes til å undersøke cerebrale nettverk i hjernesykdommer slik som TLE.

Figur 1 viser DMN avslørt med tilkobling fra en posterior frø (Rsp / PCUN, rød-gule farger) og en fremre frø (vmPFC, blå-grønne farger) og sammenligner de nettverkene som finnes i de ulike faggruppene (figur 1A-C) og mellom hverandre, nemlig friske kontroller sammenlignet med alle pasienter med TLE (figurene 1D og 1E), og deretter friske kontroller sammenlignet separat til venstre TLE (figurene 1F og 1G) og høyre...
