Gennem årene har et væld af eksperimentelle værktøjer blevet brugt til mekanisk at stimulere celler eller væv og måle mekaniske egenskaber af biologisk væv med målet om at øge vores forståelse af grundlæggende mechanobiology og studere opståen og udvikling af sygdomme 6-17.
