Folglich genau zu wissen, wie Moleküle arbeiten einzeln nicht ausreicht, um komplexe zelluläre Verhaltensweisen zu verstehen. Dies ist teilweise auf das Vorhandensein von aufkommenden Verhaltens von Mehrkomponentensystemen, wie durch das Auflösen von Aktin-Netzwerk Interaktion mit Lipiddoppelschicht-Vesikel 4, mitotischen Spindelanordnung in Xenopus Beispiel 5 extrahieren und die räumliche Dynamik der bakteriellen Zellteilung Maschinen 6. Wir haben eine alternative Technik, die auf die Anwendung schnell Fluidpulse gegen eine Tröpfchen Schnittstelle Doppelschicht 12 bis GUVs kontrollierter Größe, Zusammensetzung und Kapselung produzieren. Unser Ansatz, wie mikrofluidischen Strahl bekannt ist, bietet die kombinierten Vorteile von mehreren vorhandenen Vesikel-Generation-Techniken und bietet einen Ansatz für die Erstellung von funktionalen Biomolekülen zur Untersuchung einer Vielzahl von biologischen Problemen.

Bottom-up-synthetische Biologie stellt einen neuartigen Ansatz für die Untersuchung und Wiederherstellung biochemischen Systemen und möglicherweise Minimalorganismen. Dieses neue Gebiet engagiert Ingenieure, Chemiker, Biologen, Physiker und in komplexe, funktionierende Systeme von Grund auf zu entwerfen und montieren biologische Grundkomponenten. Das Verfahren ist vergleichbar mit Seifenblasen aus einem Seifenfilm. Durch Variation der Zusammensetzung der ausgestoßenen Lösung, die Zusammensetzung der Lösung, umfasst, und / oder der Komponenten in der Doppelschicht enthalten ist, können die Forscher, diese Technik anzuwenden, um maßgeschneiderte Vesikel zu erzeugen.
