Çiçekli bitkilerde, somatik-to-üreme hücresi kader geçiş yetişkin bitkinin çiçek organlarında spor anne hücrelerin şartnamede (SMC&#39;ler) ile işaretlenir. Kadın SMC (Megaspor anne hücre, MMC) yumurta hücresi primordiumunun içinde ayırır ve mayoz uğrar. Seçilen haploid Megaspor sonra birlikte aksesuar hücreleri ile, gamet sebebiyet verecek çok hücreli dişi gametofit, yumurta hücresi ve merkez hücre oluşturmak için mitoz uğrar. Ovüldeki içindeki MMC, meiocyte ve dişi gametopitin sınırlı erişilebilirlik sitolojik için teknik olarak zor ve sitogenetik tek hücre düzeyinde analiz eder.
