卵巣癌の発生および進行を調査するための信頼性の高いツールが緊急に必要とされている。卵巣癌細胞株の使用は、卵巣癌を理解するための貴重なツールのままで、それらの使用は多くの制限がある。これらは、異質性の欠如および拡張のin vitro継代に関連した遺伝子変異の過多があります。ここでは、手術時に回収した固体臨床検体を形成原発性卵巣癌細胞の迅速な確立を可能にする方法を記載している。この方法は、30分間酵素消化に臨床検体を施すからなる。単離された細胞懸濁液を増殖させ、薬物スクリーニングを含め下流側のアプリケーションのために使用することができる。確立された卵巣癌細胞株上の原発性卵巣癌細胞株の利点は、それらが由来し、異なる部位か否かに由来することができる元の特定の臨床検体の代表的なものであるということで一応RYまたは転移性卵巣癌。
