En enkel prosedyre for generering av karbonyl-dekorerte carbenes og deres anvendelse i aktiveringen av hvite fosfor er presentert her. Stabile carbenes har dukket opp som stedsnærværende reagenser i homogen katalyse en, organocatalysis 2, materialvitenskap 3,4, og mer nylig hovedgruppen kjemi 5-9. I forbindelse med den sistnevnte, har en stabil carbenes nylig blitt brukt i aktivering og funksjonalisering av hvitt fosfor (P 4) 5-9. Evnen til direkte å konvertere P 4 inn i fosfororganiske forbindelser har blitt en topisk forskning objektiv i et forsøk på å utvikle &quot;grønnere&quot; metoder som omgår bruken av klorerte eller oxychlorinated fosfor-forløpere. Til tross for sin omfattende bruk, kan fremstillingen og håndteringen av carbenes og reaktive forbindelser som P 4 være en vanskelig oppgave. Av denne grunn har vi skrevet dette manuskriptet for å gi en klar og konsis protokoll som gjør at syntetiske kjemikere på alle ferdighetsnivåer for å syntetisere og manipulere to veldig unik stabil carbenes. I tillegg, er aktivering av P 4 ved hjelp av de beskrevne carbenes detaljert. Heri we detalj en protokoll for syntese av to elektron-underskudd karbonyl dekorerte carbenes. Vi har valgt disse carbenes fordi de bare varierer i sine elektrofile egenskaper, og ikke deres steric parametre, noe som gjør dem ideelle for å studere effekten av carbene elektronikk på reaktivitet. Betydningen av carbene elektronikk med hensyn reaktivitet er eksemplifisert ved to tilsvarende forbindelser med den generelle formel carbene-P 2 -carbene som har blitt rapportert av Bertrand og Robinson 5,8. Bertrands P 2 derivat støttes av to syklisk alkyl amino carbene (CAAC) ligander, og er strukturelt, photophysically, og elektrokjemisk annerledes enn Robinsons forbindelse som er en P 2 fragment støttes av to N-heterosykliske carbenes (NHCs) 5,8. Faktisk, Bertrands P 2 </sub&gt;-komplekset er karakterisert som et gult faststoff som har carbene-til-fosfor dobbeltbindinger i fast tilstand, mens den deriverte rapportert av Robinson er en mørk rød solid som inneholder NHC → P dativ obligasjoner. Denne strukturelle forskjell gjør seg også elektrokjemisk slik at Robinsons forbindelsen inneholder flere elektronrike fosfor sentre som kan gjennomgå reversibel 1 eller 2 elektron oksydasjoner i motsetning til Bertrand sin forbindelse som bare kan gjennomgå en enkel reversibel oksydasjon 10.. Basert på de studiene som er beskrevet ovenfor, ble vi interessert i å studere aktiveringen av P 4 ved hjelp av svært elektrofile diamido- og monoamidoamino carbenes å avgjøre om nye carbene-stabilisert allotropes av fosfor kan være forberedt. Vi fokuserte på diamidocarbene (DAC) 1, og monoamidoamino carbene (MAAC) 2 som skiller seg bare i sine respektive electrophilicities å interrogspiste hvilken rolle carbene elektronikk spille i P 4 aktivering. Interessant når mer elektrofil DAC blir brukt, kan en tris (phosphaalkenyl) phosphane (3) isoleres som den eksklusive produkt, mens når en MAAC benyttes, kan oppnås en carbene-stabilisert P 8 allotrope (4) 11. Vi har også avlest mekanismen for formasjonen (4), og funnet at det er dannet via en [2 +2] cylcoaddition dimerisering omsetning av en transient diphosphene. Eksistensen av dette diphosphene ble bekreftet ved å fange den med 2,3-dimetyl-1,3-butadien å innrede [4 + 2] cyklo-addisjonen addukt fem. Protokollen for å syntetisere disse karbonyl-dekorert carbenes og deres tilsvarende P 4 aktiverte forbindelser er beskrevet her.

Her presenterer vi en protokoll for syntese av to distinkte karbonyl-dekorerte carbenes. Begge carbenes kan utarbeides med nesten identiske prosedyrer i multi-gram skala mengder. Målet med dette manuskriptet er å tydelig detalj hvordan de skal håndtere og forberede disse unike carbenes slik at en syntetisk kjemiker av alle ferdighetsnivå kan arbeide med dem. De to carbenes som beskrives er en diamidocarbene (DAC, carbene 1) og en monoamidoaminocarbene (MAAC 2).
