Les résultats mettent en évidence quelques considérations lors de la conception des cellules solaires tandem parallèle. Semi-conducteurs polymères sont les principaux photovoltaïques organiques (OPV) matériaux raison de la forte capacité d&#39;absorption, de bonnes propriétés de transport, la flexibilité, et la compatibilité avec des substrats sensibles à la température. Dispositif VPO efficacité de conversion de puissance, η, ont augmenté considérablement au cours des dernières années, avec l&#39;efficacité des cellules simples aussi élevées que 9,1% 1, les une technologie d&#39;énergie de plus en plus viable faire. Malgré les améliorations dans η, les minces optimales des épaisseurs de couches actives des dispositifs limitent l&#39;absorption de lumière et empêchent la fabrication fiable. En revanche, les tandems parallèles nécessitent une électrode à haute conductivité, soit anode ou de cathode, l&#39;assemblage des deux couches actives. La couche intermédiaire doit être très transparent, ce qui limite les intercalaires en tandem de la série contenant des particules métalliques, et plus encore pour les intercalaires en tandem parallèles composées de fines électrodes métalliques continues. nanotubes de carbone (CNT) feuilles montrent une plus grande transparence de couches métalliques. Ainsi, le Nanotech Institute, en collaboration avec l&#39;Université de Shimane, a introduit l&#39;idée d&#39;utiliser comme électrode de couche intermédiaire dans des dispositifs monolithiques, 8 parallèles en tandem. Les efforts précédents sélectionnée monolithiques, parallèles, appareils tandem de VPO avec des feuilles CNT fonctionnant comme anodes entre les couches 8,9. Ces méthodes nécessitent des soins spéciaux pour éviter un court-circuit d&#39;un ou de deux cellules ou des couches précédentes dommageables au moment du dépôt des couches ultérieures. Le nouveau procédé décrit dans ce document facilite la fabrication en plaçant l&#39;électrode CNT au-dessus des couches actives polymères de deux cellules individuelles, puis la stratification des deux dispositifs séparés ensemble comme représenté sur la figure 1. Ce procédé est remarquable que le dispositif, y compris l&#39;air -stable cathode CNT, peut être fabriqué entièrement dans les conditions ambiantes en utilisant seulement le traitement à sec et solution. Feuilles CNT ne sont pas intrinsèquement bonnes cathodes, car ils nécessitent dopage de type n de diminuer la fonction de travail afin de recueillir des électrons de la zone photosensibled&#39;une cellule solaire 10. À double couche électrique de charge dans un électrolyte, comme un liquide ionique, peut être utilisé pour déplacer la fonction de travail de CNT électrodes 11-14. Comme décrit dans un papier précédent et 15 représentée sur la figure 2, lorsque la tension de grille (V Gate) est augmente, la fonction de travail de l&#39;électrode commune CNT est diminuée, ce qui crée une asymétrie électrode. Cela empêche la collecte de trou de bailleur de fonds du VPO en faveur de la collecte des électrons de l&#39;accepteur de l&#39;OPV, et les appareils sous tension, changement de photorésistance inefficace dans photodiode 15 comportement. Il convient également de noter que l&#39;énergie utilisée pour charger l&#39;appareil et la puissance perdue en raison des courants de fuite de grille est insignifiant comparé à l&#39;énergie produite par la cellule solaire 15. Déclenchement ionique d&#39;électrodes CNT a un grand effet sur la fonction de travail en raison de la faible densité d&#39;états et la hauteaire de surface par rapport au volume dans les électrodes de CNT. Des procédés similaires ont été utilisées pour améliorer une barrière de Schottky à l&#39;interface de CNT avec du n-Si 16.

ambient method for the production of an ionically gated carbon nanotube common cathode in tandem organic solar cells

A method of fabricating organic photovoltaic (OPV) tandems that requires no vacuum processing is presented. These devices are comprised of two solution-processed polymeric cells connected in parallel by a transparent carbon nanotubes (CNT) interlayer. This structure includes improvements in fabrication techniques for tandem OPV devices. First the need for ambient-processed cathodes is considered. The CNT anode in the tandem device is tuned via ionic gating to become a common cathode. Ionic gating employs electric double layer charging to lower the work function of the CNT electrode. Secondly, the difficulty of sequentially stacking tandem layers by solution-processing is addressed. The devices are fabricated via solution and dry-lamination in ambient conditions with parallel processing steps. The method of fabricating the individual polymeric cells, the steps needed to laminate them together with a common CNT cathode, and then provide some representative results are described. These results demonstrate ionic gating of the CNT electrode to create a common cathode and addition of current and efficiency as a result of the lamination procedure.
