Neural avbildning under funksjonelle oppgaver er blitt mer portabel og kostnadseffektiv bruk av ikke-invasiv funksjonelle nær-infrarød spektroskopi (fNIRS) for å identifisere områder av hjerneaktivitet ved å måle blodstrømningsdynamikken i cortex. Portabilitet av fNIRS er spesielt nyttig i studiet av oppreist og funksjonelle oppgaver som gangart en, som ikke er mulig med andre teknologier som funksjonell magnetisk resonans imaging (fMRI). Denne funksjonen er kritisk innen nevrologi og nevrovitenskap, og kunne gi ny innsikt i mekanismene bak bevegelsesforstyrrelser hos barn og voksne med cerebral parese (CP) og andre nevrologiske tilstander som påvirker motorisk kontroll. Forstå mekanismene forbedrer evnen til å utforme effektive tiltak for å målrette kilden til nedskrivninger og fysisk funksjonshemmede. Omfattende vurderinger av fNIRS systemer og bruksområder har blitt presentert i litteraturen 2-5 som styrer bruk og bidra til å demonstrere nøyaktighet og følsomhet av disse systemene, men tekniske problemer i innsamling, bearbeiding og tolkning av fNIRS data fortsatt. Farge og tykkelse av hår påvirke kvaliteten av det optiske signal, med mørkt tykt hår mest sannsynlig til å blokkere eller forvrenge optisk transmitterssion 3,6. Visuell og auditiv veiledning er ossed å forbedre oppmerksomhet og utføring av oppgaver på tvers av flere aldersgrupper av deltakerne. Målet med protokollen er å identifisere forskjeller i hjernens aktiveringsmønstre i de med unilateral og bilateral barndom-utbruddet hjerneskade forhold til de som er typisk utvikling. Vi utforsker en full kroppsbevegelse (gangart), en bilateral underekstremitetene multi-joint bevegelser (sykling), og to ensidige enkelt felles bevegelser (isolert ankel dorsiflexion, og isolert hånd klemme) for å illustrere ulike anvendelser av metodene. Den samme eller en lignende protokoll kan anvendes for å studere andre sensoriske eller bevegelsesforstyrrelser eller andre oppgaver av interesse. Kontinuerlig bølge i nærheten av infrarødt lys som sendes ut, og ble påvist ved 690 nm og 830 nm i løpet av sensorimotor cortex ved hjelp av fNIRS systemet med en hastighet på 50 Hz, ved hjelp av en spesialdesignet kilde-detektor-konfigurasjon. EMG-data ble oppsamlet trådløst med en frekvens på 1000 Hz. Reflekterende markør 3-D stedene varoppsamlet ved et optisk system bevegelsesopptak med en hastighet på 100 Hz. To forskjellige datamaskiner håndtert datainnsamling, en for fNIRS og en annen for motion capture og EMG. Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy of the Sensory and Motor Brain Regions with Simultaneous Kinematic and EMG Monitoring During Motor Tasks

Monitoring brain activity during upright motor tasks is of great value when investigating the neural source of movement disorders. Here, we demonstrate a protocol that combines functional near infrared spectroscopy with continuous monitoring of muscle and kinematic activity during 4 types of motor tasks.
