Tuttavia, ci sono tre principali differenze rispetto al nostro approccio: i) la durata dell&#39;epoca EEG è molto più lungo, cioè almeno 6 s; ii) il rapporto theta-delta è impostato a 4, che è molto superiore nostra soglia, ed è relativo a diverse definizioni gamma di frequenza; e iii) la definizione di potenza possa essere basata su un approccio FFT, che manca di alta precisione, in particolare per le finestre di tempo molto brevi (2 s, cioè, 5 cicli di oscillazioni con frequenza di 2,5 Hz). In tali casi, una procedura basata su wavelet è più raccomandabile.Uno studio condotto da Caplan et al. 22 esclusivamente calcolato potere theta ignorando il rapporto potenza theta-delta. Così, la Caplan avvicinarsi 22 non può distinguere tra processi cognitivi ricco theta accompagnati da un delta alta o bassa. Nel seguente protocollo, presenteremo il nostro approccio analitico wavelet-based per analizzare in modo affidabile le oscillazioni theta altamente organizzati nelle registrazioni EEG ippocampali da topi.
