الجهاز العصبي لديه قدرة ملحوظة على التكيف والاستجابة للمؤثرات المختلفة. ويتحقق هذا التعديل العصبي إلى حد كبير من خلال اللدونة على مستوى متشابك. المنطقة النشطة (أ-ي) هي المنطقة في الغشاء قبل المشبكي التي تتوسط الافراج عن العصبي ويتكون من مجموعة كثيفة من البروتينات سقالة.
