As lesões do sistema nervoso central do adulto (SNC) podem levar à incapacidade permanente devido a múltiplos mecanismos que limitam o crescimento do crescimento axonal 1 . Após a lesão, muitos axônios do SNC não formam um novo cone de crescimento e não conseguem montar uma resposta regenerativa efetiva 2 . Além disso, danos e tecido cicatricial que envolvem lesões do SNC inibem significativamente o crescimento axonal 1 , 2 , 3 . As terapias atuais para promover a regeneração do SNC após a lesão se concentraram no aumento do potencial de crescimento intrínseco do neurônio lesado e no encobrimento dos inibidores da extensão axonal associada aos detritos de mielina e à cicatriz glial 1 , 3 . Apesar disso, a capacidade de regenerar axônios longos para alvos distantes e formar sinapses funcionais adequadas permanece severamente limitada 4 , </suP&gt; 5 , 6 , 7 . No presente trabalho, micrometras, micromanipulação de pipeta e dispositivos microfluídicos são usados ​​para iniciar, alongar e conectar com precisão novos circuitos neuronais funcionais em longas distâncias. rewiring neuronal circuits: a new method for fast neurite extension and functional neuronal connection
