Men krever konvensjonelle orientert vedlegg vanligvis delikat balansering av partikkel dipol-, ligand- og løsemiddelbaserte interaksjoner som er generelt vanskelig å kjøre og gjøre gjelder for forskjellige NC-systemer.
Vi har nylig utviklet en våt-kjemisk metode for covalently å bli form-Anisotrop kadmium chalcogenide sokkel ved å innføre en reaktiv uorganiske mellomliggende gjennom en område-selektiv nucleation. Partiklene er deretter koblet av spontane sammensmeltingen av reaktive uorganiske mellomliggende domener5. Selv om teknikken er fremdeles basert på en mekanisme for orientert vedlegg, er det mye mindre behov for å vurdere svak interparticle vekselsvirkningene, dermed muliggjør mer fleksibilitet og kontroll. Kobling av form-Anisotrop kadmium chalcogenide sokkel utføres ved først å konvertere sine tips fasetter til sølv chalcogenide via en delvis cation exchange prosessen (i løsningen); Dette etterfølges av selektiv fjerning av ligander passivating overflaten. Norsk deretter kommer sammen via fusjon av de synlige sølv chalcogenide fasetter, resulterer i samlinger av kadmium chalcogenide sokkel som er koblet ende-til-ende.
Denne protokollen viser vi at koblingsfeltet teknikken kan brukes til en rekke figur-Anisotrop kadmium chalcogenide sokkel (dvs. CdSe-seeded CDer NRs og CdSe-seeded CdSe NRs eller TPs) gir lang lineær NR kjeder eller svært forgrenet TP nettverk. facet-to-facet linking of shape-anisotropic colloidal cadmium chalcogenide nanostructures

Bruker CdSe-seeded CDer NRs som modellsystem, som vist i figur 1(a), viste vi at vi kan bruke en delvis Ag+ exchange prosess spesielt transformere fasetter på de NR tipsene til Ag2S.
