ניתן לנתח את השפע הכולל היחסי של מינים מסוימים חיידקי יכול במאזן microbiota בגלל שינוי תנאי המחייה. תרשימי עמודות (איור 11) ו- heatmaps (איור 12) להציג את הרכב חיידקי subgingival ברמה מערכה או ברמת סדר. יחידים וטיפולים שונים ניתן להשוות לפי סטטיסטיקה תיאורית, הסקתית. איור 13 מציג השוואה היסטוגרמה של שני מצבים של נייר subgingival נקודת דגימה ברמות שונות בטקסונומיה. טבלה 1 מציגה את המשמרת בהרכב biofilm במהלך המחקר במבחנה השוואה בין שתי נקודות זמן (T1 ו- T3). שינויים משמעותיים מבחינה סטטיסטית חושבו עם מבחן דרגה חתם Wilcoxon ותיקון Bonferroni הבאים מתוך נתוני 454-pyrosequencing.
