C57BL/6 עכברים מובאים בתנאים מסוימים ללא הפתוגן. כל שיטות ניסוי בבעלי חיים הם בהתאם להנחיות אושרה על ידי חיה אכפת ועדת האתיקה-השנייה הצבאי לרפואה של אוניברסיטת.

בלוטת יותרת המוח או hypophysis הוא איבר האנדוקרינית חשוב הפרשת הורמונים חיוניים עבור הומאוסטזיס1,2. מבחינה אנטומית, בלוטת יותרת המוח היא מבנה ' שני-in-one"הכוללת את neurohypophysis, את adenohypophysis. חלקים אלה יש מקורות עובריים שונים, פונקציה אחרת. Neurohypophysis נגזרת של האאקטודרם עצבית, מפריש אוקסיטוצין, הורמון antidiuretic.
