Denne protokol undersøgelser af chemokine (C-C motiv) ligand 5 (CCL5) i hypothalamus rolle ved at levere en antagonist, MetCCL5, ind i musen hjernen ved hjælp af en mikro-osmotisk pumpe hjernen infusion system. Denne forbigående hæmning af CCL5 aktivitet afbrudt hypothalamus insulin signalering, fører til glukose intolerance og perifere systemisk insulinfølsomhed.
