Son yıllarda, nörodejeneratif hastalıkları, Alzheimer hastalığı (Ah) ve Parkinson hastalığı (PD), gibi yaygınlığı büyüdü. Bu yaş ilişkili bozuklukları protein toplamları bu hastaların beynindeki fibrillary yapısı ile görünümünü ile karakterizedir. Tam olarak normal çözünür proteinler tabi neden bir toplama işlemi kötü anlaşılır kalır. Burada Caenorhabditis elegans doğal protein toplamada tamamlayıcı yaklaşımlar ile incelemek için yöntemleri açıklanmaktadır. İlk olarak, biz yaşlı hayvanlar elde etmek için çok sayıda yaş senkronize C. elegans yetiştirmeyi incelemek ve biz son derece-çözünmez-büyük toplamları ayırmak için biyokimyasal yordamlar mevcut.
