1. ברוק אינדוקציה

	</li>

2. ברוק עיבוד

אחוזי הצלחה במחלקה שלנו, שיעור ההצלחה של הפרוצדורה (שילוב של אינדוקציה מוצלחת של cytospin קריא), בהתבסס על מדגם של חולים 1,129 (לנסיינים בריאים, חולי אסטמה או מטופלי COPD), 82% (924/1,129). בניתוח משנה בהתאם לסוג של חולים, שיעור ההצלחה הוא 75% (57/76) במקצועות בריאות, 82% (827/1,004) בחולי אסטמה, 82% (40/49) בחולי COPD.
תוצאות במקצועות בריא ב ניתוח רטרוספקטיבי של סדרה של 289 לנסיינים בריאים מהמחלקה שלנו, החציון (טווח בין רבעוני) משקל sputum היה 3.72 g (טווח בין רבעוני של 2.46 g - 5.54 g), ספירת החציוני הכולל הלא-קשקש/g של ברוק 0.59 x 106 ( טווח בין רבעוני של 0.37 x 106 - 1.29 x 106).
בנושאים האלה בריאים, חלקם של תאים קשקשיים הוא נמוך ב- 19% (10% 34%) והוא הכדאיות בגובה של 66% (54-78%). לגבי האחוז של סוגי תאים שונים, תוצאות מסוכמות באיור 4A. ניתן להבחין כי האחוז של מקרופאגים (49% [31-68%]) הוא גבוה יותר מאשר האחוז של נויטרופילים (34% [14% - 60%]), ואילו האחוזים של לימפוציטים (2% [1-3%]), אאוזינופילים (0% [0% 0%]) ותאי אפיתל (4% [2-11%]) נמוכים. תוצאות אלו דומים כאשר הנתונים מבוטאים בערכים מוחלטים (איור 4B).

חשוב גם להתחשב הגיל של המטופלים. אכן, מתאם חזק הוא בין גיל החולה את הפרופורציה של נויטרופילים נוכח sputum דגימות (איור 5). באופן דומה, בעת מיון מטופלים לפי קבוצות גיל 10 שנה (איור 6), הבחנו עלייה משמעותית באחוזים נויטרופילים עם הגדלת קבוצת גיל. לכן, משתנה זה יש לקחת בחשבון כאשר משווים תוצאות גדודים שונים, זהירות יש לנקוט את ההתאמה של נושאים.

התוצאות בחולים הסובלים ממחלות מערכת הנשימה הטכניקה של ברוק המושרה משמש בדרך כלל כדי להעריך את הפרופיל תאים דלקתיים אצל חולי אסתמה.טכניקה זו ויכול להיות מיושם גם לחולים הסובלים ממחלת ריאות חסימתית כרונית, מחלות נשימה דלקתי אחר. בעת השוואה בין הנבדקים בריא לחולי אסתמה, מטופלי COPD (הקבוצות 3 להיות תואמות גיל, מגדר, טבק הרגלים), הבחנו כי הפרופיל תאים דלקתיים שונה לגמרי בין קוהורטות אלה (איור 7). אכן, חולי אסתמה בדרך כלל מאופיינים אאוזינופילים sputum מוגבה, ואילו חלקם של נויטרופילים sputum הוא בדרך כלל גבוה יותר בחולי COPD לעומת שולט בריא, אשר קשורה לחומרת המחלה.
