OCA çevrimi Şekil 2' de gösterildiği gibi Fourier dönüşümü kızılötesi spektroskopi tarafından izlenir. 1805 cm-1 zirve anhidrit bond streç Oca'da olarak atanır; 1760 cm-1 zirve polimer ester bağı oluşumu karşılık gelir. Bir kez 1805 cm-1 monomer'ın zirvesinde tamamen kaybolur, polimerizasyon sona erdi.
