من غير الواضح تأثير معتدل هيبوبيرفوسيون داخل الرحم (مياه) في الدماغ. حاليا تشمل النماذج الحيوانية المتاحة من داخل الرحم هيبوبيرفوسيون/الاسكيمية أساسا هيبوبيرفوسيون الشديد أو درجة الانحدار من هيبوبيرفوسيون مع أو بدون ضخه 9،،من1011. في إعدادات السريرية، ولكن حالات مياه تعتبر متكررة أكثر بكثير من تلك التي تنطوي على مثل هذه الظروف القاسية. النماذج المتاحة حاليا من مياه نموذج القوارض التي تشمل ربط خياطة أما الرحم أو الشريان المبيض ونموذج القوارض التي تنطوي على قطع شرايين المبيض الثنائية والشريان الاورطي بعد سالكيه 12،13، 14،15،،من1617. واحدة من مساوئ هذه النماذج هو تباين بين الجنين واسعة، بدءاً من الأجنة مع هيبوبيرفوسيون عميقة للأجنة نضح سليمة تقريبا، اعتماداً على موضع الجنين داخل الممرات الشرياني الرحم و الشرايين المبيض. وثمة عيب آخر من هذه النماذج هو قدرتهم على التمييز بين موقف كل الجنين بعد الولادة؛ ومن ثم، لا يميز الباحثون من شدة هيبوبيرفوسيون داخل الرحم التي تعانيها جرو فردية بعد ولادته.

هيبوبيرفوسيون داخل الرحم/الاسكيمية واحد من الأسباب الرئيسية لتقييد النمو داخل الرحم/الجنين والولادة قبل الأوان وانخفاض وزن المواليد. أجريت معظم الدراسات المتعلقة بهذه الظاهرة في نماذج أما مع الاسكيمية داخل الرحم شديدة أو نماذج مع درجة الانحدار من هيبوبيرفوسيون داخل الرحم. وقد أجريت أي دراسة في نموذج في هيبوبيرفوسيون موحد داخل الرحم خفيفة (مياه). استخدمت نموذجين لدراسات ميوه: تشكيل نموذج يقوم على ربط خياطة من جانبي الممر الشرياني مع شرايين الرحم والمبيض، ونموذج عابر استناداً إلى قطع شرايين المبيض الثنائية والشريان الاورطي بعد سالكيه. هذه القوارض نموذجين من مياه بعض القيود، مثلاً، ليست كل الأجنة يتعرضون لمياه، اعتماداً على موقفهم في القرن الأفريقي الرحم. وفي نموذجنا ميوه، تتعرض جميع الأجنة إلى مستوى مماثل من هيبوبيرفوسيون داخل الرحم. حققت مياه خفيفة تضيق الشرايين الأربعة جميع تغذية الرحم، أي شرايين الرحم والمبيض الثنائية.
