자궁내 성장 금지 (IUGR) (태아 성장 제한 라고도 함)와 유아 (출생 체중 < 임신 나이 대 한 10번째 백분위 수), (< 임신 37 주에 태어난), 조산 및 낮은 출생 무게 (< 2500 g) 계정에 대 한 모든 신생아 2,3의 거의 10%. 이러한 유아의 많은 뇌성 마비 및 발달 장애 (예를 들어, 관심-적자/과다 장애 (ADHD) 및 학습 장애) 3,,45같은 신경학 적인 문제를 제시. 그 조건 유사성과 그들의 병 인 및 결과에 차이가 있다.
