פירוק של N- tosyl-1,2,3-triazoles עם rhodium(II) אצטט דיימר בנוכחות כהלים טפסים לאכסון רב-תכליתי N-(2-alkoxyvinyl) sulfonamides, אשר מתנהג תחת מגוון תנאים לממן שימושי N- O -המכילה תרכובות. תוספת חומצה מזורז של כהלים או תיולים ל N-(2-alkoxyvinyl) phthalans המכילים sulfonamide מספק גישה ketals, thioketals, בהתאמה. הפחתה סלקטיבית של הקבוצה ויניל N-(2-alkoxyvinyl) sulfonamide המכילים phthalans via הידרוגנציה מניב את phthalan המתאימה בתשואה טובה, ואילו יוצרת הפחתת עם נתרן bis (2-methoxyethoxy) aluminumhydride פנתילאמין הטבעת נפתח אנלוגי. כי N-(2-alkoxyvinyl) קבוצה פונקציונלית sulfonamide הוא תכליתי לאכסון, אבל לעתים קרובות hydrolytically לא יציב, פרוטוקול זה מדגיש מפתח טכניקות של הכנת, טיפול, ומגיבים הללו סובסטרטים מרכזי בכמה שימושי המרות.
