من الصعب علاج الألم المزمن، وهناك حاجة ماسة إلى نهج جديدة لحل الألم المستمر. السيتوكينات المضادة للالتهابات هي المرشحين الواعدين لعلاج الحالات ألم المنهكة بسبب قدرتها على تنظيم التفاعلات المناعية العصبية الشاذة. بيد أن الناحية الفسيولوجية وهي تعمل في شبكة السيتوكينات المختلفة وذلك قد لا يكون تأثيرها العلاجي الأمثل عند استخدامها كالمخدرات ذاتها. للتغلب على هذا التحديد، قمنا بتطوير بروتين انصهار السيتوكينات المضادة للالتهابات IL4 و IL10. هنا، يمكننا وصف الأساليب للإنتاج ومراقبة الجودة من البروتين الانصهار المؤتلف IL4-10 ونقوم باختبار فعالية البروتين الانصهار IL4-10 لحل ألم في نموذج الفأر من الألم التحريضية المستمرة.
