Arteriel stivhed er en god markør for vaskulære aging evaluering1,2. Måling af arteriel stivhed er traditionelt udført ved hjælp af pulse wave hastighed (PWV) metoder, som er en vigtig og pålidelig måling af arteriel stivhed1,3,4,5. Specifikt, repræsenterer PWV stivhed af en bestemt arteriel segment. Pulse wave overføres gennem de arterielle skibe i et bestemt segment, og dens hastighed er omvendt relateret til de viskoelastiske egenskaber af muren selv6. PWV værdi stiger med arteriel stivhed.
Carotis-femorale PWV (cf-PWV) og brachialis-ankel PWV (ba-PWV) er de 2 mest hyppigt anvendte PWV målinger. De er meget udbredt i klinisk praksis, hvor cf-PWV er populært i de vestlige lande og ba-PWV er populært i de asiatiske lande. 7 , 8. faktisk cf-PWV har været anset som "guld-standard" måling af arteriel stivhed1. Cf-PWV, det er taget som repræsentant for PWV for hele aorta. Desuden for ba-PWV er der ingen sand arteriel vej forbinder måling websteder (brachialis til ankel). Den anslåede ba-PWV repræsenterer PWV for helhed af centrale og perifere arterielle system9. Ikke-invasive anordninger til regionale stivhed udstyret med en specifik tonometer anvendes i stigende grad til at måle stivhed af carotis til femoralis segment1. I cf-PWV målinger skaber denne enhed og en håndholdt tonometer en stabil bølgeform på den computer, der kan optage billeder i høj opløsning digitale bølgeform og de specifikke PWV værdier (figur 2). Alle disse målinger skal standardiseres. Her, viser vi hvordan man kan optage en god kvalitet cf-PWV med denne ikke-invasive Tonometri-baseret enhed i virkelighedstro omgivelser.
Nogle etableret kardiovaskulær risiko forudsigelse modeller såsom Framingham-risikoscore og SCORE risiko diagrammer er hovedsagelig beregnet og sorteret efter konventionelle risikofaktorer11,12. Nogle roman biomarkører bør dog tilføjes i risiko vurdering modellen at forbedre risiko stratificering13. I litteratur anses arteriel afstivende som en mellemtilstand mellem konventionelle risikofaktorer og kliniske hjertekarsygdom14. Således føjer cf-PWV til risiko vurdering model kan være et redskab for risiko stratificering15,16.
Her, genererer vi en metodologi for at vurdere deltagernes cf-PWV, sammen med PWA, at fastlægge en standardprotokol for arteriel stiv vurdering.

For ældre, arteriel stivhed er en god markør for aging evaluering og det anbefales, at den Karstivhed bestemmes noninvasively ved måling af carotis at femoral pulse wave hastighed (cf-PWV) (klasse I; Niveau af beviser A). CF-PWV (med denne metode) og ba-PWV (med andre metode10) blev gennemført i alle 2098 deltagerne fra nordlige Shanghai undersøgelse19. Både cf-PWV og ba-PWV blev brugt i den samme logistisk regressionsmodel. I denne model, blev alder og køn justeret.
