Teknikker i dette eksperiment blev udviklet for at løse behovet for at lede adsorbates ind i ønskeligt konfigurationer uden at skulle stole på manuel manipulation, som er langsom og kan kræve en stor indsats. Den termisk fordampning af molekyler i en Knudsen celle er en effektiv og ren måde at forberede tynde film. I denne protokol bruges en Knudsen celle til at fordampe C60 molekyler på en graphene substrat. Denne Knudsen celle fordamper består hovedsageligt af et kvarts rør, en varme glødetråden, termoelement ledninger og feedthroughs1,2,3. Kvarts-røret bruges til at rumme molekylerne og wolfram glødetrådens heats molekyler i kvarts rør gennem anvendes nuværende termoelement ledninger bruges til at måle temperaturen. I forsøgene, er deposition sats kontrolleret af tuning temperatur kilde i cellen Knudsen. Termoelement ledningerne er fastgjort til ydermur af kvarts rør og derfor typisk måle en temperatur på ydermuren, der er lidt forskellige fra temperaturen inde i cellen hvor de molekylære kilde er placeret. Fordi en lille mængde af sublimeret molekylerne vil være i en luftart ved et lavere tryk, når molekylerne er fordampet, som der regel en ændring af tilknyttede pres. Derfor, vi overvåger til ændring af trykket i belastning lås omhyggeligt.
Denne fordamper kan bruges til at indbetale forskellige molekyle kilder såsom C60, C70, bor subphthalocyanine chlorid, Ga, Al og Hg4,5,6,7,8. Fysiske termisk deposition i et højt vakuum miljø er en ren og kontrollerbar metode for at fabrikere roman molekylære nanostrukturer på graphene. Vi præsenterer metoder for deponering og passivt manipulere C60 molekyler på piblede graphene at forhånd udøvelse af realisere ansøgninger, der involverer 1 D C60/graphene hybrid strukturer.
