Alt Üriner Sistem semptomları (AÜSS) oluşumunu benign prostat hiperplazisi (BPH) tarafından neden erkek nüfustan yüksek insidansı ile yaygın bir sorundur. Yaşamı tehdit eden bir hastalık olmasa da BPH ciddiye yaşam kalitesini etkileyen sorunlara neden olur.
