Vi presenterer en protokoll for syntese av C5 sukker (xylose og arabinose) fra en fornybar ikke-spiselige lignocellulosic biomasse (dvs., jute) med tilstedeværelse av Brønsted Sure ioniske væsker (BAILs) som katalysator i vann. BAILs katalysator utstilt bedre katalytisk ytelse enn konvensjonelle mineral syre katalysatorer (H2SO4 og HCl).
