Assay JC-1 является метод cytofluorimetric, который как качественные, так и количественных, и он далее протестирована, анализируя ММП на уровне одной митохондрии6. JC-1 существует в агрегированной форме, уступая красный оранжевый цветные выбросов (590 нм ± 17,5) в матрице митохондрий с обычной СПП; с потерей ММП JC-1 преобразуется в односегментную форму, которая дает зеленый флуоресценции с выбросами 530 нм ± 15.
