فحوصات الفوعة الجرثومية التقليدية تنطوي على التعرض لفترة طويلة للبكتيريا على مدى عدة ساعات للخلايا المضيفة. وخلال هذا الوقت، يمكن أن البكتيريا تغيرات في الفسيولوجيا بسبب التعرض لبيئة النمو المضيف ووجود خلايا المضيف. لقد طورنا فحص لقياس سرعة حالة ضراوة من البكتيريا التي تقلل من مدى التي تنمو فيها البكتيريا حضور الخلايا المضيفة. البكتيريا الزحارية مختلطة معا ومعطلة على متن طائرة واحدة تصوير باستخدام جهاز pad أجار. يستخدم الإجراء تصوير fluorescence خلية واحدة مع إستر كالسين-أسيتوكسيميثيل (كالسين-ص) كمؤشر على صحة الخلية المضيفة. ويتم تحليل الأسفار الخلايا المضيفة بعد ح 1 من التعرض للخلايا المضيفة للبكتيريا باستخدام الفحص المجهري ابيفلوريسسينسي. صورة تحليل البرمجيات المستخدمة لحساب مؤشر قتل مضيف. وقد استخدمت هذا الأسلوب لقياس ضراوة داخل العوالق والمرفقة بالسطحية الزائفة الزّنجاريّة السكان الفرعية خلال المرحلة الأولى من تشكيل بيوفيلم ويمكن تكييفها للبكتيريا الأخرى والمراحل الأخرى من النمو بيوفيلم. هذا البروتوكول يوفر طريقة سريعة وقوية من قياس ضراوة ويتجنب العديد من التعقيدات المرتبطة بالنمو والحفاظ على خطوط خلايا الثدييات. تعمل الفوعة تقاس هنا باستخدام الزحارية قد صودق باستخدام الماوس الضامة. على وجه الخصوص، هذا التحليل كانت تستخدم لإنشاء ذلك فوعة أوبريجولاتيس مرفق السطحية P. الزّنجاريّة.
