ويبلغ معدل انتشار فقدان السمع لدي الأطفال والبالغين حوالي 19.5 في المائةو 15.2 في المائة علي التوالي. ومع ذلك ، فان حوالي 39.3% من جميع المواليد الجدد المصابين بفحص غير طبيعي للسمع لا يتلقون علاجا علاجيا كما ذكرت مراكز مكافحه الامراض3. فقدان السمع هو حاله مدروسه علي نطاق واسع ، والقوارض هو نموذج قوي لدراسة السمع العادي والسمع الاضطرابات ذاتالصلة4،5،6،7،8،9 ،10،11،12،13،14،15. اضطرابات السمع مثل فقدان السمع موصل (CHL) يؤدي إلى زيادة في الاكتئاب متشابك علي المدى القصير في القشرة السمعية4، مما يؤدي إلى انخفاض المنحدرات القياس العصبي المرتبطة عتبات الكشف عن التحوير التردد 5. نماذج فقدان السمع موصل عن طريق الازاله الجراحية/النزوح من المطرقة ، الغشاء الطبلي (TM) ثقب أو الاذن المستخدمة بسهوله والسماح للاستقراء السريع للنموذج فقدان السمع5،14 ،15،16،17،18. والهدف من هذا البروتوكول والأسلوب هو إظهار نموذج CHL بسيط وقابل للتكرار في القوارض.
