この方法は、ナノ構造が薄膜プロファイルやウィッキング速度に及ぼす影響など、マイクロ流体力学分野の重要な質問に答えるのに役立ちます。この手法の主な利点は、さまざまなウィッキングピラーアレイをコストと時間効率の高い方法で製造する方法を提供することです。この手順のデモンストレーションは、私たちの研究室の大学院生であるトーマス・ジェルマンです。開始するには、プロトコル用のスタンプデバイスを準備します。このスタンプ装置の基本的な詳細は、この回路図にあります。モールドを支えるバッキングプレートをXYステージに取り付けます。プラスチックにスタンプを押すために、Theta-Zステージはマイクロサイズのビットを移動します。レーザーは、ビット先端にプラスチックモールドを加熱します。ここでは、それぞれのステージ上のバッキングプレートとスタンプビットのサポートを示します。10xの目的を取り付けたビデオカメラは、見晴らしからビットの側面へのスタンプのビューを提供します。スタンプ金型と一緒に、デバイスからバッキングプレートを取得します。金型はアクリルディスクで、直径1インチ、厚さ8分の1インチです。デバイスで使用するために、押し出し金型をバッキングプレートに固定します。次に、スタンプビットを手動で変換して損傷を避けます。次に、モーターを使用したXYスタンプステージにモールド付きのバッキングプレートを固定します。コンピュータコントロールを使用して、プラスチック金型を移動して、スタンプビットの軸に合わせて中央に配置します。これで、成形品がプラスチック金型に接触しそうになるまで、スタンプビットを手動で翻訳します。コンピュータ化されたスタンピング制御プログラムを使用し、ビットを監視します。先端がプラスチックに接触するまで、スタンピングビットを小さな増分で翻訳します。その後、スタンプビットをサンプルから離して変換します。プラスチックモールドがビットに対して常に正常であることを確認してください。あるいは、PDMS 金型を作成すると、柱の高さが均一ではありません。不均一な柱の高さは、流体のヘミウィッキングに影響を与える可能性があります。次に、ピクセル長、キャビティ深さ、初期位置など、パターンを作成するためのパラメータを割り当てます。準備済みのパターニングマップをアップロードして続行します。グレースケール値は、希望するキャビティ深さを示し、黒は最大キャビティ深度に設定されています。スタンプ処理を開始します。ソフトウェアは、ピクセルの長さを使用して適切な場所にビットを移動します。ビットは、設定されたパラメータに従ってキャビティをスタンプします。キャビティを作成したら、スタンプを押したプラスチック金型を取り外します。スタンプ処理直後のスタンプ金型です。金型は、この例のように、表面が9,000グリット湿った乾燥サンドペーパーで研磨された後に完成します。次に、金型を使用してモールドを作成します。ビーカーに、PDMSエラストマーと硬化剤を10対1の比率で入れる。その後、3分間十分に混ぜ合わせます。混合した後、閉じ込められた気泡を解放するために避難した部屋にビーカーを置きます。続行する前に、混合物に気泡がないことを確認してください。次に、スタンプを押したプラスチックモールドを壁に囲まれた容器に入れます。理想的には、コンテナは金型の外径より大きくなりません。PDMS混合物をスタンプ領域の中央に注ぎ始め、外側にスパイラルして均等に分配します。気泡を放出するために、コンテナを避難したチャンバーに置きます。終わったら、容器をホットプレートに移し、摂氏100度で15分間加熱します。その後、ホットプレートを冷やさずに、摂氏65度で25分間加熱します。容器を熱から取り出し、PDMSを冷却します。容器の壁から成形を切断する前に冷却と硬化のために20分待ちます。金型からPDMSを取り外し、プラスチックモールドとPDMSサンプルを覆われた容器に保管します。しかし、プラスチックモールドを使用する前に、超音波水浴中に5分間置くことによって、任意の残留PDMSの表面をきれいにしてください。このビットマップは、矩形のウィッキング構造を定義します。各ピクセルは、100マイクロメートルの辺の長さの正方形を表します。均一に黒いピクセルは、PDMSの各柱の高さが100マイクロメートルに設定されることを意味します。これは、ビットマップで作成された PDMS の柱の上部ビューです。エッジからのこの側面のビューは、ウィッキング構造の比較的一貫した高さを示しています。ここでは、堆積したアルミニウムの約70マイクロメートルの厚い層を持つPDMS構造の側面とトップの図です。表面へのエタノールの適用によって、これらの同じ構造は柱の基部に沿って液体の証拠を示す。この方法は、ヘミウィッキングダイナミクスへの洞察を提供することができますが、ヒートパイプやナノスケールの熱伝達などの他のシステムにも適用できます。この手順に従うと、インターフェロメトリーのような他の方法は、半月板の曲率がウィッキング構造によってどのように決定されるか、およびそれが地域の熱流束にどのように影響するかなど、追加の質問に答えるために行うことができます。開発後、この技術は、マイクロスケールの熱伝達分野の研究者が、薄膜領域の形状が熱ブロックに与える役割を探求する道を開いた。レーザーを使用すると非常に危険な作業が可能であり、プレス加工を行う間は常にレーザー安全メガネを着用する必要があることを忘れないでください。
