化石燃料の利用には大量のCO2排出量が伴い、地球温暖化に大きく貢献しています。CO2のキャプチャ、貯蔵、および変換は、大気中の CO2含有量を削減するために不可欠です1.CO2から炭化水素への光還元により、CO2を削減し、CO2を燃料に変換し、太陽エネルギーを節約することができます。しかし、CO2は非常に安定な分子です。そのC=O結合は、より高い解離エネルギー(約750 kJ/mol)2を有する。つまり、CO2は活性化や変換が非常に難しく、プロセス中に高エネルギーの短波長ライトのみが機能します。そのため、CO2光減少研究は、現在の低変換効率と反応速度に苦しんでいます。ほとんどの報告されたCH4収率は、TiO2触媒3、4上の数μmol·gカタ-1·h-1レベルでのみです。CO2削減のための変換効率と反応速度が高い光触媒システムの設計と製造は依然として課題です。
