Myk, lavt strømforbruk, utnytte biomolecular memristors lignende komposisjon, struktur og bytte mekanismer av bio-synapser. Presenteres her er en protokoll for å montere og karakterisere biomolecular memristors innhentet fra isolerende lipid bilayers dannet mellom vanndråper i olje. Inkorporering av spenning-aktivert alamethicin peptider resulterer i memristive ioniske konduktans over membranen.
