本稿では、海底熱水硫化物試料中のウランとトリウム同位体を精製・分離する方法を紹介する。この技術により、ウランおよびトリウム同位体は、600,000年未満の年齢のサンプルを年代測定するのに適したMC-ICPMSによって測定され、硫化鉱床、海底熱水活動の歴史および大きな硫化物沈着物の成長速度の重要な情報を提供することができる。この技術により、0.2グラム未満の粉末硫化物サンプルが使用され、MC-ICPMSによって年代測定されたウランシリーズに消費されるのはわずか50ナノグラムのウランである。このプロトコルを成功させるには、いくつかの重要な手順に従う必要があります。すべての化学試薬を精製し、装置をきれいにします。すべての操作は、煙のフードときれいな空気の循環の下で行われていることを確認してください。サンプル処理中に隣接するサンプルからのクロスコンタミネーションを避け、あなたの技術に従ってウランとトリウムの状態に達します。この技術の主要な模倣はウラン238およびトリウム232に関連している。サンプルの濃度は、ウランが10ppb未満であるウラン以上のサンプルを選択するのが最善である。まず、スプレーアルコール、または超純水を使用して、化学実験のためのヒュームフード、ホットプレートおよびバランスルームベンチをきれいにする。フュームフードに、バイアルでサブボイルド塩酸と硝酸と硫化物のサンプルを準備します。30ミリリットルのPFAボトルを2回ラベル付けし、消去を防ぎ、プラスマイナス0.0001グラムのバランスでブランクボトルの重量を量ります。サンプルをPFAボトルに注ぎ、蓋をしてボトルの重量を量ります。ボトルに約1リットルの超純水を加え、ボトルを回転させて内壁をすすい、ボトルを慎重に振ってすべてのサンプルを覆います。ヒュームフードにボトルを含むサンプルを入れ、蓋を開け、ピペットを使用して、サンプルを含む各ボトルに14モル硝酸(水レゴア)の3ミリリットルを加えます。PFAボトルをホットプレートに置き、ホットプレート温度を摂氏170度に設定してサンプルを完全に溶解します。溶液を30分以上冷ましておきます。次に、各サンプル溶液に既知の活性のトリウム-229、ウラン-233およびウラン-236スパイク溶液の100〜300ミリリットルを加えます。ボトルをホットプレートの上に170°Cで5時間置いて乾燥させます。各サンプルを14モル硝酸の2滴に溶解し、再び摂氏170度のホットプレートで乾燥させます。清潔な15ミリリットルの遠心分離チューブを準備し、ラベルを貼ってチューブスタンドに置き、乾燥サンプルを含む各ボトルに約0.1ミリリットルのモル塩酸を加え、穏やかに振ってサンプルを完全に溶解します。各サンプルを遠心管に移します。酸が中和されるまで各チューブにアンモニア溶液を数滴加え、赤褐色ウランとトリウム同位体沈殿物、酸化酸化二フェリ酸を示す。遠心分離管を密封し、2340回gで7分間レベルと遠心分離機を入れます。上清を捨てます。チューブに超純水を加え、振って再中断します。もう一度遠心分離機を洗い、さらに2回洗浄する。次に、沈殿物を1.5ミリリットルの7モル硝酸で溶解する。溶液を対応するボトルに移し、過塩素酸を1滴加して有機物を除去し、ホットプレート上の各サンプルを170°Cで約30分間乾燥させます。アニオン交換列を準備するには、PTFEパイプの助けを借りて、各PTFEカラムにゆっくりと下部にフリットを挿入します。ホルダーに柱を置き、ピペットは、柱にアニオン交換樹脂を洗浄します。超純水で列全体を充填し、14モル硝酸の1滴を追加します。次に、7モル硝酸の2つのカラムボリュームを2回加え、微量元素を除去します。各サンプルを0.5ミリリットルの7モル硝酸に溶解します。慎重に列にロードし、カラムを横切って無駄なビーカーに滴り落とします。次に、2つのカラムボリュームと7つのモル硝酸の1つのカラムボリュームを各カラムに連続して加えます。試料中の鉄やその他の金属元素は除去され、ウランとトリウムは樹脂によって保持されます。その後、2つのカラム体積と8モル塩酸の1カラム体積を各カラムに連続して加え、トリウム分画を溶出する。各カラムに7ミリリットルのPFAボトルを使用して、トリウム分画を収集します。ボトルに過塩素酸を1滴加え、ホットプレートの分率を摂氏170度で約30分間乾燥させます。次に、2つのカラム量が0.1モル硝酸を2回有する樹脂からウラン分を溶出する。新しいPFAボトルに溶出液を収集し、過塩素酸の1滴を追加し、約30分間摂氏170度のホットプレートに乾燥させます。今すぐ準備し、2ミリリットル容量バイアルをラベル付け.各サンプルを1滴14モル硝酸に溶かし、半分の滴が残るまで5分未満の5分未満の170°Cでホットプレート上で乾燥させます。2%硝酸と0.1%フッ化水素酸の0.2ミリリットルと一緒に、機器測定用の対応するバイアルに移します。この手順を使用すると、海底熱水硫化物サンプルをウランおよびトリウム分析のために完全に溶解することができる。この例では、ウラン含有量は178から5まで、1グラム当たり118.2ナノグラム、トリウム含有量は1グラム当たり603から7、212ピコグラムの範囲であった。5つのサンプルは、2000年の2000年の936年前の567から21までの年齢を持っていました。サンプル消費量は約 60 ミリグラム, S32 を除き、わずか 17 ミリグラムのサンプルが消費されました。これらのステップでは、濃度は酸試薬でしたが、成功を確実にするために実際に決定しました。この手順に従って、ウランとトリウム同位体は減少し、硫化物堆積物の実際の化学情報を提供することもできると判断した。私たちの試薬は人体に有害です。個人の安全を確保するため、関連する仕様に厳密に従ってください。
