Verstrekken van eencellige gevoeligheid, is real-time stroom cytometry uniek geschikt voor het kwantificeren van multimodale receptor functies van levende culturen. Met behulp van neurale volwassen voorlopercellen, de P2X7 receptor functie evalueerden via calcium toestroom gedetecteerd door calcium indicator kleurstof, transmembraan porie vorming door ethidium bromide opname en fagocytose met behulp van fluorescerende latex kralen.
