و الزرد هو مناسبه فريدة من نوعها للتلاعب الوراثية والتصوير في الجسم الخارجي ، مما يجعلها نموذجا شعبيه متزايدة للدراسات الوراثية العكسية ولتوليد العابرة للتصوير في الجسم الخارجي. هذه القدرات فريدة من نوعها جعل الزرد منصة مثاليه لدراسة تطوير عدسه العين وعلم وظائف العيون. النتائج التي توصلنا اليها مؤخرا ان اكوابورين-0 ، Aqp0a ، مطلوب لاستقرار خياطه العدسة الاماميه ، وكذلك للتحول من نواه العدسة إلى مركز العدسة مع العمر ادي بنا إلى تطوير أدوات مناسبه بشكل خاص لتحليل خصائص العدسات الزرد. هنا نحن الخطوط العريضة طرق مفصله لتشريح العدسة التي يمكن تطبيقها علي كل من العدسات اليرقة والكبار ، لاعدادهم للتحليل النسيجي ، والمناعي والتصوير. ونحن نركز علي تحليل سلامه خياطه العدسة والمورفولوجية الخلية القشرية ومقارنه البيانات المتولدة من العدسات تشريح مع البيانات التي تم الحصول عليها من التصوير في الجسم المجري من الشكل العدسة التي جعلت ممكنا من قبل خط الزرد الوراثية الجديدة مع وراثيا ترميز الفلورسنت علامة. تحليل العدسات التي تم تشريحها عموديا علي محورها البصري يسمح بالتحديد الكمي للوضع النسبي لنواه العدسة علي طول المحور الامامي الخلفي. مطلوب حركه نواه العدسة من الوضع الامامي الاولي إلى المركز لبصريات العدسة العادية في zebrafish الكبار. التالي ، فان القياس الكمي للموقف النووي للعدسة يرتبط ارتباطا مباشرا بخواصه البصرية.
