在涉及真空环境的实验中，真空窗的应力引起的双反效应会影响激光的极化状态。将极化分析仪放在真空室内直接测量激光的极化状态是不可行的。一种解决方案是直接使用原子或离子作为原位极化分析仪来分析真空窗的反射。Cs原子8的矢量光移对点 射激光9的线性极化程度很敏感。但该方法很费时，只能应用于线性偏振激光检测。
提出了一种新的，快速，精确的，原位方法，以确定激光在真空室内的极化状态的基础上，最大化单个25Mg+荧光在离子陷阱。该方法基于离子荧光与激光极化状态的关系，而激光的偏振受真空窗的双向影响。该方法用于检测真空室10内真空窗的反射和激光的圆极化程度。
