자기 공명 영상, 에코카디그래피 또는 CT 혈관 조영술9,,10과같은 폐 혈관을 라벨링 및 이미징하기 위한 수많은 방법이 존재하지만, 이러한 양식의 대부분은 연구될 수 있는 것의 범위를 제한하여 작은 혈관을 적절히 채우거나 캡처하지 못합니다. 직렬 단면 및 재구성과 같은 방법은 고해상도를 제공하지만 시간 /노동 집약적11,,12,,13입니다. 주변 연조직 무결성은 전통적인 부식 주조10,,13,,14,,15,,16에서손상된다. 동물 의 나이와 크기조차도 카테터를 도입하려고 할 때 요인이되거나 해상도가 부족합니다. 반면에 폴리머 주입 기술은 동맥을 모세관 수준으로 채우고 μCT와 결합하면 비교할 수 없는 분해능5를허용합니다. 산후 14일의 어린 마우스 폐에서 샘플을 성공적으로캐스팅하고 몇 시간 만에 처리되었습니다. 이들은 기존연조직(17)을손상시키지 않고 조직학적 제제/전자 현미경검사(EM)를 위해 무기한 재스캔하거나 심지어 보내질 수 있다. 이 방법의 주요 제한 사항은 CT 장비/소프트웨어의 선행 비용, 혈관 내 압력을 정확하게 모니터링하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있으며 동일한 동물에서 세로로 데이터를 수집할 수 없다는 것입니다.
