Kombination af DNA-halopræparater med fluorescens in situ-hybridisering muliggør højopløsningsanalyse af genomiske interaktioner med nukleoskelettet. Vedhæftet genom fører til hybridiserede fluorescerende signaler placeret i de resterende ekstraherede kerner, mens ikke-bundet genom er i DNA-haloen, der omgiver de resterende kerner.
