洞房結節(SAN)のペースメーカー細胞によって生理学的に生成された電気信号は、房室結節(AVN)を含む伝導系を介して伝導され、心臓全体の興奮と収縮を可能にします。SANまたはAVNのいずれかの機能不全は不整脈を引き起こし、電気生理学および不整脈形成におけるそれらの基本的な役割を示しています。マウスモデルは不整脈の研究に広く使用されていますが、SANとAVNの具体的な調査は依然として困難です。
SANはクリスタターミナルと上大静脈の接合部に位置し、AVNは冠状静脈洞の開口部、三尖弁輪、およびトダロの腱によって形成されるコッホの三角形の頂点に位置する。しかし、サイズが小さいため、従来の組織学による可視化は依然として困難であり、3D環境内でのSANおよびAVNの研究はできません。
