Nous décrivons les étapes de l’implantation percutanée de la pompe à ballonnet intra-aortique (IABP), un dispositif mécanique d’assistance circulatoire. Il agit par contrepulsion, gonflant au début de la diastole, augmentant la pression aortique diastolique et améliorant le flux sanguin coronaire et la perfusion systémique, et se dégonflant avant la systole, réduisant ainsi la postcharge ventriculaire gauche.
