신생아 IVH는 발달중인 뇌실의 측심실에 인접한 빠른 세포 분열 부위 인 배아 기질에서 비롯됩니다. 이 고도의 혈관 구조는 조산과 관련된 혈역학 적 불안정성에 취약합니다. 혈액은 배아 기질 내의 깨지기 쉬운 혈관이 파열 될 때 배아 기질 출혈 (GMH) -IVH에서 측심실로 방출됩니다. 등급 IVH의 경우, 뇌실 주위 출혈성 경색은 또한 뇌 내 혈액 제제의 방출에 기여할 수 있습니다. 1 GMH-IVH의 조합은 특히 고급 출혈 (등급 III 및 IV) 후에 PHH를 유발할 수 있습니다 1.
