B 세포 (CD19+) 및 혈장 세포 (CD138+)를 분리하는 이유는 루푸스 신장이 이들 세포를 농축시킬 수 있기 때문이다14. 신장의 작은 응집체에서 B 세포의 존재가 클론 확장과 결과적으로 면역 글로불린 (Ig) 생산을 나타낼 수 있음을 시사합니다. 혈장 세포는 이들 응집체 뿐만 아니라도 15에 존재하는 것으로 잘 알려져 있다. 일단 백혈구가 단리되면, 형광-활성화 세포 분류(FACS)는 상이한 형광 접합된 항체로 염색할 때 관심있는 세포를 분석하는데 사용될 수 있다.
