末期腎疾患の負担 慢性腎臓病(CKD)は世界的な健康問題です1。現在の推定では、世界中で8億5000万人以上が腎臓病を患っています。腎臓病の有病率は、糖尿病患者(4億2,200万人)のほぼ2倍であり、世界中の癌患者(4,200万人)またはHIV/AIDS(3,670万人)の有病率の20倍以上です2。アメリカ人の約7人に1人がCKDを患っており、1,000人に2人のアメリカ人が腎臓移植または透析サポートを必要とするESKDを患っています3。世界中でESKDの負担が増大していることを考えると、透析技術の最適化は非常に重要です3.
