Denne protokollen beskriver rektal organoid morfologi analyse (ROMA), en ny diagnostisk analyse for cystisk fibrose (CF). Morfologiske egenskaper, nemlig rundheten (sirkularitetsindeks, CI) og tilstedeværelsen av et lumen (intensitetsforhold, IR), er et mål på CFTR-funksjonen. Analyse av 189 forsøkspersoner viste perfekt diskriminering mellom CF og ikke-CF.
