מחלת השתל הוורידי (VGD) היא הגורם המוביל לכשל בהשתלת מעקפים כליליים (CABG). מודלים גדולים של בעלי חיים של CABG-VGD נדרשים לחקירת מנגנוני מחלה ופיתוח אסטרטגיות טיפוליות.

הווריד 30 יום לאחר הניתוח. בזמן ההפרדה, הימנעו מכלי הדם הראשיים, הלב, והפרידו את כלי הדם המושתלים שכבה אחר שכבה.חתכו במהירות את כלי הדם הגדולים המתחברים ללב, והניחו את הלב ואבי העורקים העולה על שבבי קרח. לאחר הסרת גשר כלי הדם של השתל, אבי העורקים המחובר והעורק הכלילי הימני, יש לשטוף את כל הדגימות במי מלח רגילים בארבע מעלות צלזיוס. לאחר לקיחת כל כלי השתל של כשלושה עד ארבעה סנטימטרים וחלוקתו לארבעה עד חמישה חלקים שווים, להעביר אותו CryoTubes במהירות הבזק להקפיא חנקן נוזלי.לניתוח, תקן את השתל הקר כקרח, שטוף במי מלח בתמיסת 4% paraformaldehyde. לאחר 12 שעות של קיבוע רקמות, מכתימים את הקטעים ב 50 מיליליטר של תמיסה מימית של hematoxylin במשך שלוש דקות. לאחר מכן, להפריד את החלקים על ידי שטיפה עם 50 מיליליטר של 0.5% חומצה הידרוכלורית-אתנול ו 0.2% אמוניה מים במשך 10 שניות כל אחד.לאחר ששוטפים את צפו בקטעים פתולוגיים תחת מיקרוסקופ אור בהגדלה של פי 40. בדיקה אולטראסונית הראתה כי כיוון זרימת הדם הכללי היה תקין בקצה הפרוקסימלי, חלל כלי הדם והקצה הדיסטלי של כלי השתל.עם זאת, הקצוות הפרוקסימליים
