心房細動(AF)は、複数の後天性および遺伝的危険因子の最終的な共通経路を表します。AF基質の病態生理学的メカニズムを調査する研究では、マウスモデルは、遺伝子操作の容易さおよび一般に、異なる臨床表現型についてヒトで観察されるAF感受性を再現するという事実を考えると有利である1,2,3。しかし、マウスが自発的なAF4を発症することはめったになく、挑発的な心房ペーシング研究の使用が必要です。
プログラムされた電気刺激(PES)を実行して、心臓内5または経食道6ペーシングのいずれかを使用して、マウス心房電気生理学およびAF感受性を評価することができます。経食道アプローチは生存手順として特に有利であるが、その使用は、多数の公開された実験プロトコル7,8および再現性を妨げる可能性のある変動性の原因9によって複雑である。さらに、報告されたプロトコルの比較が限られているため、適切なペーシングプロトコルを選択することは困難です。
