脳卒中は、世界中の主要な死因および長期障害の1つです1。脳卒中の発生率は年齢とともに急速に増加し、55歳以降10年ごとに倍増します2。虚血性脳卒中は、血栓性および塞栓性イベントによる脳血流障害の結果として発生し、これはすべての脳卒中症例の80%以上を網羅しています3。現在でも、虚血性脳卒中後の組織死を最小限に抑えるために利用できる治療選択肢は比較的少ない。存在する治療法は時間に敏感であり、その結果、必ずしも良好な臨床転帰につながるとは限りません。したがって、脳卒中後の回復に影響を与える虚血性脳卒中の複雑な細胞メカニズムの研究が急務です。

A Triple Primary Cell Culture Model of the Human Blood-Brain Barrier for Studying Ischemic Stroke In Vitro
